Cameron Giammalva

I connect to new places through the outdoors—whether it’s hiking a national park, cycling the countryside, or just walking through a city. With years of experience exploring and guiding across New Zealand, Croatia, the U.S., and beyond, I love helping people plan active adventures that go beyond the usual routes. If you’re heading to New Zealand’s South Island, the Dalmatian Coast, or iconic U.S. national parks like Yellowstone or Yosemite, I’ve got you covered.

Hi, I’m Cameron! For me, the best way to connect with a place is to move through it—whether that’s hiking, cycling, or even a long city walk that turns into an adventure of its own. I’ve been guiding and exploring for over a decade, and my favorite trips always come down to the same thing: finding the perfect balance between effort and awe.

Where I Can Help

If you’re planning an adventure in any of the following regions, I can help you:

📍New Zealand’s South Island – I’ve hiked and guided some of the most breathtaking trails here, from the Routeburn Track to lesser-known gems where you’ll have the scenery all to yourself.

📍 Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast – Cycling along the Adriatic is one of the most stunning ways to experience this region, and I know the best routes to escape the cruise ship crowds.

📍U.S. National Parks – I’ve spent years hiking and road-tripping through Yellowstone, Yosemite, the Tetons, Big Bend, Acadia, and more. Whether you want backcountry solitude or the best scenic day hikes, I can point you in the right direction.

📍Vermont & California Wine Country – Two of my favorite places to explore by bike or on foot. I can help you plan the best mix of trails, scenic backroads, and, of course, great post-adventure food & wine stops.

📍Bermuda – I love the island’s mix of coastline trails, hidden beaches, and scenic cycling routes. Whether you’re looking for the best cliff walks, a perfect snorkeling spot, or a laid-back bike ride along the Railway Trail, I’ve got you covered.

My Favorite Adventures

🏕️ New Zealand’s Hut-to-Hut Hikes – Sleeping in remote mountain huts under a sky full of stars, with nothing but the sound of the wind and a good trail ahead. Pure magic.

🚴‍♂️ Cycling Through Croatia – Climbing quiet coastal roads with views of the Adriatic and stopping in small villages for fresh seafood and local wine—what’s not to love?

🎒 Yellowstone & Grand Teton Backcountry – Some of the most epic landscapes I’ve ever experienced. Wildlife sightings, dramatic peaks, and trails where you feel completely immersed in nature.

Whether you’re looking for the best routes, need help with logistics, or just want to make sure you’re getting the most out of your trip, I’d love to help you plan. Let’s chat!

I think this one conversation saved me 8 hours of scanning Reddit to piece together a plan. This is the best idea.

I was planning a family trip to Yellowstone and had no idea which hikes would be ok for a five-year-old (but still fun for me). We only had a day there and I wanted to make sure I got it right. Now, I feel confident we're hitting the right stuff.
