Hey, I’m Kate! I’m a climber, outdoor writer, and adventure coach with experience across Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, California, and Arizona. I create trail guides, gear reviews, and climbing resources, and I’m an AMGA-certified Single Pitch Instructor. I also work with first-time adventurers and women over 60 to help them feel confident outdoors. Whether you’re planning a solo trip, a climbing adventure, or just want help getting started, I’d love to share what I’ve learned.
Nearly a decade ago, I fell head over heel hooks for climbing and moved to Colorado—without ever having set foot in the state—because the mountains were calling. Now, my life revolves around outdoor adventures, both in my free time and as a freelance writer in the outdoor space.
Where I Can Help
📍 Colorado – I’ve spent years climbing and hiking in the Front Range, including Clear Creek Canyon, Boulder Canyon, Eldorado Canyon, and Shelf Road. If you’re looking for beta on climbing routes or scenic hikes, I can help you navigate the best spots.
📍 Utah – Moab, Indian Creek, and Zion National Park are some of my favorite places to climb and explore. I can help with route selection, logistics, and avoiding the usual crowds.
📍 Wyoming – I’ve summitted Devils Tower twice and climbed at Ten Sleep and Wild Iris. Whether you’re tackling your first multi-pitch or just looking for good climbing-friendly campsites, I’ve got you covered.
📍 California & Arizona – Joshua Tree and the Grand Canyon hold some of my most memorable adventures, from hiking Rim-to-Rim in a day to climbing J-Tree’s legendary cracks. I can help you plan a trip that balances climbing, hiking, and desert exploration.
📍 Fairbanks – I’ve spent a good deal of time exploring here, including hiking on the winter trails, climbing the ice tower at the university, visiting the magical hot springs, and chasing the northern lights.
My Favorite Adventures
🏜️ Hiking Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim in a Day – An exhausting but unforgettable experience, covering 24 miles from the North Rim to the South Rim.
🧗 Climbing in Zion National Park – Big walls, epic views, and a climbing scene like nowhere else.
🏔️ Summitting Devils Tower (Twice!) – The routes, the views, and the feeling of standing on top—truly special.
🌵 Camping, Hiking, and Climbing in Joshua Tree – The magic of the desert never gets old.
